Park Sinchaisri is an Assistant Professor of Operations and Information Technology Management at UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. He teaches Production and Operations Management for both undergraduates (UGBA141, counted as an Upper Division elective for Data Science’s Business and Industrial Analytics domain emphasis) and MBAs (EWMBA204).

Sinchaisri’s research interests center around combining tools from operations research, economics, machine learning, and behavioral sciences to study how humans learn and make decisions in complex environments, and to develop tools and strategies for improving human-centric operations. Currently he is focusing on the future of work (“How do on-demand workers decide their flexible schedule and learn to improve their performance?”), human-AI interfaces (“Can machine learning offer simple tips to help humans improve their decision-making?”), dynamic pricing (“How to price when it affects quality perception?”), and urban analytics (“Are more social neighborhoods safer?”). Their research group, Berkeley Operations and Behavioral Analytics Lab (BOBALAB), develops decision-making games that help offer insights into human biases and how algorithms should be designed to effectively support human decision-making.

Park Sinchaisri received his PhD in Operations, Information, and Decisions and AM in Statistics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where they were also a Wharton Social Impact Fellow, his SM in Computational Science and Engineering from MIT, and his ScB in Computer Engineering and Applied Mathematics-Economics from Brown University. Sinchaisri had also worked at software engineering, investment banking, and management consulting. Growing up in Bangkok, he hopes to expand their research to make a positive social impact, from solving urban problems to helping the marginalized work populations. Outside of work, Park Sinchaisri is a world traveller, avid foodie, board game lover, and design and cities enthusiast.
